What's on this worksheet
A two-digit number plus a one-digit number. Some problems need regrouping and some do not, so students have to check the ones column every time. Each sheet comes with an answer key on a separate page.
Teaching tips
- Have students say the fact hiding in the ones column: 47 + 8 uses 7 + 8.
- Use a hundreds chart to show the jump to the next ten.
- Ask for an estimate first. 47 + 8 has to be more than 50, which catches many errors.
